Caste, Lluís Castellet, is a Barcelona-based singer-songwriter in love with songs that convey truth, simple melodies, and evocative lyrics. After being part of Barcelona's suburban bands like "Sinlokales," he decided to develop his musical imagination in his own project.
He released his first solo album, "Pueblo de Verano," in 2018 through the Rocket Music label. The album featured twelve highly personal songs with borderline sounds and folk, rock, and pop timbres. The songs were supported by the talents of great musicians such as Lluís Gómez, Víctor Estrada, and Ángel Ruiz, among others. The lyrics of "Pueblo de Verano" largely revolved around the many experiences a city boy has in the town where he spends his summers.
After the album's release, Caste toured many Barcelona radio stations and performed live in venues across Catalonia until the pandemic hit. She took advantage of this break to compose and polish the songs that appear on her second album, "Para lo que me queda en el convento...", also released through Rocket Music and due out in the summer of 2023.
The songs in "Para lo que me queda en el convento..." pay tribute to and highlight the essential role of older adults, and the importance of putting everything into perspective and having a punkish, festive attitude after so many years of constant effort that has gone so little socially recognized.
In the fall of 2022, Caste successfully carried out a Verkami campaign to fund and promote the release of the album "Para lo que me queda en el convento...". She took advantage of this campaign to collaborate with the "Fundació Amics de la Gent Gran" (Amics de la Gent Gran Foundation), donating 10% of the campaign's proceeds to this NGO, seeking to give them visibility and support in their fight against loneliness among older adults.
