Donallop - Crisàlide CD

DONALLOP is the duet format of Majorcans Pere Bestard and Joana Pol . They currently reside in Catalonia. This 2019 saw the release of the third studio album, Crisàlide , released by the Catalan record label, Satélite K. It is the second work that they produce at the expense of the legendary state indie producer, Paco Loco (producer of Hinds, Mishima or Nacho Vegas ) , in his studios from El Puerto de Santa Maria a Cadis. For the first time they have performed in the form of a power trio , the duet is accompanied by drummer Josep Servera. An album that draws on pop minimalism, poetic prose and new musical forms, with the textures of trap, the rhythms of house and the beat of slowcore.

This new work deals with themes such as isolation, lack of communication and courage, in a social and political context of decadence and feminist struggle versus capitalism and patriarchy. Ens trobem in the if of a global transformation accentuated by an unprecedented technological conjunction. Human relations have gained a new virtual dimension, as the processes of the ancient system, such as masclism, exacerbated consumerism and corporatism, present new forms. The first two decades of the 21st century have given rise to a chrysalis society in continuous and accelerated transformation, and from which a new consciousness has emerged to face the futures, and not so futures, of humanity.
