CD - Mil Noches (Jodie Cash, 2021)

Definir un álbum como este no es tarea fácil pues si algo tenían claro Jodie Cash, Toni Espelta y Toni del Amo cuando decidieron entrar a grabarlo era el amplio abanico de caminos que podía deparar su destino, incluso sin intención de ello.

’Mil Noches’ surge del nuevo proyecto de Jodie y sus compañeros rebautizado como Jodie Cash una vez finiquitada su etapa en Jodie Cash Fingers.
Es el primer larga duración que publican en su lengua materna el Español. Este componente ya denota un claro cambio en el rumbo que llevaba hasta el momento el trío. El álbum se compone de nueve composiciones y una adaptación al Español del mítico tema ‘Take it easy’ de Jackson Browne y Glenn Frey popularizada por The Eagles bajo el nombre de ‘Siempre libre’, el cuál fue elegido para finalmente ser el single principal del álbum.

‘Mil noches’ no es sólo el nombre de un disco que ha dado ya muchos viajes antes de ser publicado, es un claro mensaje de tres músicos de calle que se han matado a trabajar, tocando y girando sin parar, con problemas incluso de salud en épocas de mucho trabajo, por hacer un trabajo no menos que profesional, con muchas influencias de todo lo que han vivido juntos y de lo que se han alimentado y múltiples colaboraciones de grandes músicos del panorama musical barcelonés. En él se puede apreciar un claro sonido nacional, fresco y de fácil llegada. Es un viaje por la música de raíces en todas sus vertientes: desde el rock, el country y el blues hasta algunos matices de flamenco, rancheras y el pop.
Durante el año 2020 lanzaron algunas pistas del mismo: ‘Umbral’, ‘Rock Machine’ y ‘Huella’ fueron los temas escogidos siendo el último publicado bajo el sello discográfico de Nashville ‘Gateway Records’.
Es toda una declaración de intenciones, pues queda reflejado que a estos músicos no les para nada ni nadie.
Una aventura sobre todo en el estudio de grabación donde además jugó un papel muy importante su productor Micky Forteza, con quién decidieron repetir experiencia tras su primer álbum ‘Rollin’ Swingin’’.
Arreglos de vientos, riffs guitarreros y ducles melodías con una muy presente aparición de coros en toda la producción es lo que se podrá apreciar en este nuevo trabajo de unos artistas cuánto menos polifacéticos.

Defining an album like this is not an easy task because if something was clear to Jodie Cash, Toni Espelta and Toni del Amo when they decided to enter to record it, it was the wide range of paths that their destiny could bring, even without intention. "Mil Noches" arises from the new project by Jodie and his companions renamed Jodie Cash once her stage in Jodie Cash Fingers is over.It is the first long play that they publish in their mother language, Spanish. This component already denotes a clear change in the direction that the trio had taken so far. The album consists of nine compositions and a Spanish adaptation of the legendary song 'Take it easy' by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey popularized by The Eagles under the name 'Siempre libre', which was finally chosen to be the main single of the album.

'Mil Noches' is not only the name of an album that has already made many trips before being published, it is a clear message from three street musicians who they have worked very hard, playing and touring non-stop, even with health problems in times of a lot of work, for doing a job no less than professional, with many influences from everything they have lived together and from what they have been fed and multiple collaborations by great musicians from the Barcelona music scene. In it you can appreciate a clear national sound, fresh and easy to reach. It is a journey through roots music in all its aspects: from rock, country and blues to some nuances of flamenco, rancheras and pop.During 2020 they released some tracks from it: ‘Umbral’, ‘Rock Machine’ and ‘Huella’ were the chosen songs, the last one being released under the Nashville record label ‘Gateway Records’.It is quite a declaration of intentions, as it is reflected that these musicians don’t stop anything or anyone. An adventure especially in the recording studio, where its producer Micky Forteza also played a very important role, with whom they decided to repeat the experience after their first album 'Rollin' Swingin ''. Wind arrangements, guitar riffs and double melodies with a very present appearance of choruses throughout the production is what can be seen in this new work by ones artists very versatile.
